How To Know If You Are Cursing or Blessing Yourself

In my last post I spoke about the power of words and I would like to follow up on that in a little more detail and explore whether we are actually cursing ourselves without knowing it!
Proverbs Ch. 18 vs. 20-21 in the Amplified Bible says this:
" A man's [moral] self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequences of his words he must be satisfied [whether good or evil]. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life].

Proverbs Ch. 15 vs. 4 says: " A gentle tongue [with its healing power] is a tree of life, but willful contrariness in it breaks down the spirit."

You need to speak God's Blessings in order to "activate them." Everyday we get up and have to make a decision to be happy or not. What starts in our head with our thoughts and ends up coming out of our mouth, unless we retrain ourselves to think differently we could actually be cursing ourselves!

Think about it just for a second, when someone ask how you are doing what do you tell them? Do you tell them about the positive things that are going on in your life or do you immediately start complaining about every little thing that is going wrong in your life from your marriage, health, finances, children and every other negative thought that comes into your head?

Have you ever been in a great mood and then started talking to someone and all they did was COMPLAIN about EVERYTHING? By the time that you left did you notice that your attitude had also changed from cheerful to grumpy? I believe that the more we study the Bible and learn from it, God will remove the negative thoughts and replace them with positive thoughts and words so that we can live blessed lives!
God Bless You!!

The Power of the Spoken Word

Have you ever thought about how powerful the words that come from your mouth are?

If you have ever gotten into an argument with someone and seen the look on their face after you have something unkind or hurtful, or perhaps you were on the receiving end of the hateful words that came from a loved one - then you know what I am talking about!

How powerful are words? If you look in the Bible you will see that God spoke the world into existence. Time after time in the bible you will see the phrase "and God said..."Words are Power, they can make a person smile or bring them to tears.

A great example of this is in the Book of Genesis, where God created the Heavens and the Earth. In Genesis 1:3 it says "And God said, Let there be light; and there was light." (ASV Bible).
